A kingdom at the north which stands within the snowy mountain range. Half of the kingdom snows all year long, and due to this harsh weather, only a small portion of the land can be cultivated. Altorians are well-known for their large or tall stature and rigid personality.

Cuisine✦
Their food are usually seasoned with a sprinkle of salt and herbs, making the taste usually bland but aromatic. The diet consists of mostly meat and fish with sides of vegetables like beans, asparagus, eggplants, potato, or squash. Only a small variation of greens can grow in their poor soil. The most common fruits are various species of berries that can be found growing in the wild. Liquor made from berries are common and highly popular here to fight the cold weather, while (imported) spiced ginger drinks are luxury.
Fashion✦
Since the temperature is relatively chilly all year round, wool and leather are the most important material for their clothes. The fabrics are thick, and people add more layers as the weather gets colder. Silver, copper, and tin are the most popular metals for accessories alongside diamonds and crystals. Most of the patterns are in simple geometric, triangular, or diamond shapes in white, blue, grey, or black colors. Dyes made from mushroom are the most reliable source here and they are ranged from blue to yellowish green, while light purple and reddish colors can be obtained from berries.
Religion✦
The Kingdom worships the God of Hiraes; The God Almighty, The Holy One; who reigns as the supreme god upon His people. The practice is monotheism as there are no other gods they worship, but they still pay respect to the ancient prophets who erected cities and churches–under the name of God Hiraes–in the past. Those who are bestowed with the power of the elements are believed to be the God’s messengers, and they usually strike quite a social standing within the community.
Their largest religious celebration is Hiratheresta Day that falls on 4 February. It’s believed that many ages ago, the first prophetess, Theresta, received the very first Key of Hiraes from the God Himself on that date. The key is enshrined in the oldest church of Altoria on top of the highest peak of the snowy moutains and people would come to pray during the celebration.

Economy✦
Not gifted by much fertile soils, Altoria has to build their economy upon their abundant mining resources such as iron, coal, and diamonds. They export them to other countries not in raw form, but finished products only. This way, Altoria can keep the price high. All those income are mostly used to import daily necessities like food, spices, fabrics for the people, though a big chunk of it is also poured into the military fundings.
Politics✦
Altoria government is led by a king as the supreme ruler. Right below him, the kingdom is branched into two main administrations: the government and the military. They hold equal power and work together to take care of the people and protect them from crimes and incoming threats. The government itself consists of nobles who possess the lands inherited from generations, and are free to manage their own properties responsibly. These nobles have to pay a high tax in return of a lavish life. Meanwhile, the knights are freed from tax, yet they have to swear undying loyalty to the king and royal family. While they’re not nobles, their salary is way more than enough to live comfortably, on top of not having to follow the strict nobles’ codes.
Due to this contrasting nature of the two authorities, they often get into a disagreement. Currently each of them support different heirs: the nobles supporting Prince Cael while the knights Prince Seren. Outside this, the core members of Royal Family actually have the special authority to make important decisions in the king’s stead, when he’s–either physically or mentally–unable to rule.
Military✦
Although Altoria’s territory isn’t blessed with fertile farmlands, the mountains are rich in various metal ore veins. This ables them to create a huge amount of steel weapons and armors, and combined with the strong, large horses, Altorian’s Heavy Cavalry force has been the strongest mounted army in the continent. Light Cavalry and Mounted Infantry also patrol the borders daily, and magic users have been valued greatly in wars, especially the Construction type because they can be very deadly in battles. The hierarchy and authority within the ranks is well-practiced and respected, with harsh punishment waiting for those who violate the codes. They’re also extremely loyal to their King and the Royal Family members and will not hesitate to put their lives on the line to protect their rulers.
The only disadvantage for Altorian armies is that, due to limited resources, their lack of military provision for long-stretched battles is the only reason why they haven’t conquered the whole continent already.
