Long time ago, Spirits of Ephora lived alongside all the creatures, nurturing and balancing the elements around them. But as the time flew by, the humans–whose population had grown rapidly–became the most harmful creatures to nature. They chopped down the trees, changed the flow of the rivers, cracked mountains, even exploited animals for commodities. The Spirits feared that one day they would meet the same fate, and thus dispersed themselves into tiny particles of elements all across the world and were absorbed into nature.

Even so, the Spirits continued to take care of the lands and ocean, spending their elemental power to keep the world alive and well. However, it was inevitable that the elements were also seeping into the humans since they are also a part of nature itself. Humans started to be born with elemental powers and learned how to control them throughout the ages. Some powers were gentle but some weren’t; some were used to help others but some were used to kill each others.

Nowadays, around 30% of total Ephora human population can use magic. Normally it isn’t too strong and only used to assist the holder’s daily life, making them just a little more special than others but not significantly. Although very rare, there are humans who were born with concentrated amount of elemental power inside them, called the 'Constructive' type. They could be extremely lethal to their surrounding when their element is out of control. It depends on the place, but mostly they’re either immediately killed, hidden away from civilization, or being exploited in wars.

SPIRITS OF EPHORA

Long time ago, Spirits of Ephora lived alongside all the creatures, nurturing and balancing the elements around them. But as the time flew by, the humans–whose population had grown rapidly–became the most harmful creatures to nature. They chopped the trees, changed the direction of how the river flows, cracked mountains, even exploited plants and animals alike for commodities. The Spirits feared that one day they would meet the same fate, and thus dispersed themselves into particles of elements all across the world and were absorbed into nature.
