WORLD HISTORY

― Year 243 Ephora  • 5 years ago ◣

Queen Isthar of Altoria’s ruling King, Rolant II, was shot by an arrow when she was having a peaceful visit to Rimvel. Unable to be saved, the Queen passed away at the young age of 28, leaving the 4 years old Crown Prince Seren in the castle. King Rolant II mourned deeply for his Queen and in fury, sent his strongest armies for a military aggression to Rimvel.

However, almost at the same time, Lemuria’s Prince Consort Evan was poisoned by a wine the Altorian envoys presented during a peace diplomatic discussion. The envoys were executed directly in place. Feeling betrayed after making a huge effort to close the gap between Lemuria Islale and Altoria, the ruling Queen, Ekanta, answered to Altoria’s aggression by sending her armies to defend Rimvel. And thus, a war broke out.

◢ Year 248 Ephora • now ―

The Crown Princess of Lemuria, Sera, had secretly been making contact with Altoria’s Prince, Cael, to find the truth behind their parent’s assasinations. A lot of carefully-gathered evidence has proven how suspicious the incidents were, for example, there was no record of Altoria sending a group of envoys to Lemuria 5 years ago. They went to their Queen and King to show this evidence an advised a  truce between the two countries to investigate the incidents fully. Both rulers eventually agreed as they had exhausted a lot of resources for the 5-years war, and how they were blinded by rage and grief to overlook this matter.

During another Continental Union Court, a 3-years truce was made between Lemuria Islale and Altoria to give each other a chance to cooperate in unfolding the assassinations of Prince Consort Evan and Queen Isthar that caused the war. As a part of the agreement, each country had to send their heir to the other as ‘Peace Ambassador’. However, it wasn’t a secret that their actual role was to be a ‘hostage’, so that neither Lemuria or Altoria would break the truce.

Rimvel was freed from war and turned into a neutral land with their own autonomy which welcomed whoever wanted to live there. Both countries had to contribute generously in revitalizing Rimvel as a part of the truce also. So far everything has gone smoothly and people have adapted to this newfound peace, even though they’re dreading over what will happen once 3 years have passed.

◢ Year 78 Ephora • 170 years ago ―

Being the oldest Kingdom in the continent, the land of Rimvel was once Altoria’s territory. It was one of Altoria’s most important territory because of its fertile lands that was enough to feed most of the population single-handedly back then. However, as the neighbouring Queendom–Lemuria Islale–spread their influence throughout the continent and made an alliance with the small nations, Rimvel’s people, too, was interested in joining them. Altoria wasn’t happy about this news and sent out their army to put pressure on Rimvel’s citizen, capturing and executing those who voiced out their opinions of leaving the Kingdom.

This issue had become a focus across the continent as Rimvel had pleaded for help to other nations. A Continental Union Court was held to address this problem, and after considering Rimvel’s situation as well as Altoria’s actions against their own people, they allowed Rimvel to pick which country they’d like to reside in. Since then, Rimvel became a part of Lemuria Islale Queendom.
